You know you're an elders' wife when...
by stillAwitness in.
...you're asleep in the back of the hall after the meeting while waiting for your husband to finish up another elders' meeting.

Dan Sydlik dies, the last of the moderating forces.
by SadElder inour good friend dan sydlik died today about 2 pm eastern time.
he was the last of the moderating forces on the gb.
lately he has had little influence among the ted (aka the boss) jaracz (head of the bethel cia - the service department) henchmen and loyalists.

He did the dedication talk at my old kg hall. Sure he was a great speaker but he wasn't a great man. He didn't have the courage to speak out, maybe if he did, lives would've been saved. He's just as blood guilty as Teddy Boy. For Dan, I don't think meeting his Maker was the happy reunion he envisioned, not at all.

Richie, I'm so happy you're okay, thanks for keeping us informed. You should write a book, it'd definately buy it. I really admire your courage and guts, hang in there. This will pass and there will be much better days ahead. It's a blessing to have parents who love you, always treasure them, even if you don't agree. Please keep in mind that your mom will be under a lot of negative pressure, show her all the love she won't be getting at the hall. Tell your dad I said hi, just kidding

A New Voice
by apfergus ini haven't been involved with the jws in nearly five years now.
i was raised as a witness from the time i was seven until i was 17 and a junior in high school.
i don't have any particularly sad stories to tell, really, except that the process of leaving the organization--even though i was never baptised--was the hardest thing i've ever gone through.

When you were a JW, did anyone ask you a question that caused you to doubt?
by Victorian sky inno dotrinal question could shake me, but it was a personal one, out in service that started my initial doubts.
a man asked me: 'are you really happy?
' i couldn't say, 'no, i'm miserable' but i thought it was a powerful question, anyone else asked something that really shook them?
